Michael is married with two children, Alex and Samantha, currently living in New Jersey.
In 1993, Michael graduated Rutgers College Business School with top honors and a degree in marketing. Two years later, he received his Master’s in Integrated Marketing Communications from Northwestern University. At that time, he worked for United States Gypsum Corporation (USG) in a strategic marketing role, and later teamed up with the former owner of Evelyn Wood Reading Dynamics to sell reading programs to students and universities.
Michael has held a variety of Marketing leadership roles for Fortune 1000 companies and is the founder of numerous websites, reputation management programs, Internet marketing products, and other online businesses. Michael is the author of the “Made Simple” series, today’s top selling internet marketing guides including SEO Made Simple, Blogging Made Simple, as well as PPC Made Simple, and Public Speaking Made Simple. In addition, he is the founder of MarketingScoop.com and Upward SEO, helping other web site owners dominate their online presence through effective reputation marketing initiatives.
